Confluence is creating a feel-good day in Autumn when the weather is perfect--hot sun, cool air, and the Fall colors are so beautiful--we feel lucky to be in Colorado. Confluence will perform songs of happiness and of longing, as the day starts with “Beautiful Morning”, an American folk song, and finishes with “A Good Night”.

Join us to savor music by favorite composers including Eric Whitacre and Ola Gjeilo, as we sing the poetry of Dante Gabriel Rossetti, Langston Hughes, Edna St. Vincent Millay, and Emily Dickinson, among others.

The series begins on Sunday October 21 at 3 PM with Mark Kroos, 2-neck guitar virtuoso.

Mark Kroos plays two guitar necks at the same time with a tapping technique that involves both hands fretting the strings. It creates an explosive and energetic genre that is as entertaining to watch as it is to listen to.

In July 2011, Mark won first place in Guitar Player Magazine's International Competition in Nashville and has since shared the stage with acts like Sister Hazel, Phil Keaggy and The Sidewalk Prophets. He has given halftime shows for the Orlando Magic basketball team and his Dueling Banjos video (below) is a viral hit on social media.

Mark is currently based in Charlotte, NC, but his visit will be part of a 7 month tour of the United States and Canada. The show will include Mark's arrangements of tunes like Linus & Lucy, Canon in D, Swing Low Sweet Chariot, and of course, Dueling Banjos, as well as Mark's original music.

On November 12 at 3 PM, Confluence a cappella choir presents Canticum Comicum (funny songs). In the first of a set of celebration concerts, this will feature all the silly and funny songs we have performed together over the last 10 years. Maybe we'll even add some new ones to tickle your funny bone.

The series begins on begins on Sunday October 15 at 3 PM with a repeat of the very popular father - daughter duo, Annie and Marsh Barnette. You will recognize Marsh from his regular appearances at St. Paul's as chorister, pianist, and tenor in Confluence. Annie has recently finished her Masters in Violin Performance and performs occasionally at St. Paul's at the 10:30AM service. They perform a variety of wonderful, lively, music together. Join us for their beautiful violin and piano music.

This concert features early American shape-note and Appalachian music as well as the Colorado premier of "The World Beloved: A Bluegrass Mass"!

The group will perform music from the armed forces and patriotic themes, commissioned music and sacred music. Hear the mighty struggles of humanity expressed in battle cries and haunting hopes for peace.

You will hear music about water from peaceful and happy sea chanteys and songs of faith and hope, to an amazing piece written in memory of a ferry which went down in a heavy storm in the North Sea, showing the fearful power of water.
